Before Project Runway’s ”Unconventional Challenge”, there was Weslaco Museum’s annual “Birthday Party” fashion show.  Women created outfits using local fruit, vegetables, and flowers. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce to showcase the food grown in the Rio Grande Valley.

The fashion show debuted in 1929. The above photos range approximately between 1930s - early 1950s.

Which contestant should go home? Which one will make Nina shake her head? Who will get the Tim Gunn save?
